LRCC Offers ACDelco Training

ACDelco Student TrainingPhoto: Lakes Region Community College (LRCC) professors, Jamie Decato (Belmont-far left), and Dave Perkins (Moultonborough-center), welcome ACDelco representatives, Ted Rahmann (Ardsley, NY-center left), Rob Oulton (Somersworth- center right), and Gary Mitchell (Philadelphia, PA-far right), to the College for student training. Rahmann is an instructor in the Ardsley, NY ACDelco training facility; Oulton and Mitchell are Market Area Service Managers covering the 6 New England States as well as Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey.

“It is a pleasure working with the high caliber individuals from ACDelco,” says Decato, a long- term LRCC automotive professor who has spent many years in the automotive field. “Sharing best practices and overall resources works well for everyone!”

ACDelco is a division of General Motors Corporation, the main supporter of LRCC’s General Motors Automotive Service Education Program (GM-ASEP). GM has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of training vehicles, tools, and equipment to LRCC’s GM-ASEP Program. ACDelco resources are now being leveraged to provide high quality training to independently owned and operated service centers.

“The ACDelco classes bring manufacturer level training to the aftermarket at LRCC,” says Decato. “The training is offered free of charge to all employees of participating ACDelco certified repair facilities. ACDelco provides industry leading parts and great training; now that’s a winning combination!”

The LRCC and ACDelco relationship is another example of how the Community College System of New Hampshire bridges the gap between education, business, and industry.
