Summer Scholar with Prof. MaioranoPhoto:Lakes Region Community College (LRCC) Anatomy and Physiology I Professor, Nancy Maiorano (Gilford-right), welcomes “Summer Scholars” participant, Sarah Gelotte (Gilford-left), to the College on Prescott Hill this morning. Gelotte and fifteen other Lakes Region area high school students are taking LRCC’s Anatomy and Physiology I course free of charge as a result of the “Summer Scholars” program partnership with LRGHealthcare.

“Tuition and fees for Anatomy and Physiology I are normally $760 but are being waived for ‘Summer Scholars’ students,” says LRCC President, Dr. Mark Edelstein (Laconia- not pictured), who welcomed the new students at the start of the class. The Anatomy and Physiology I course is transferrable to UNH, PSU, KSU, and other colleges and universities across the country.

LRCC “Summer Scholars” program students joining Gelotte are Salvatore Callesano, Christopher Joy, Melissa Otis, Interlakes High School; Marie Costanza, Catherine McCann, Mary McGourty, Moultonborough Academy; Luis Gamero, William Winslow III, Kingswood High School; Abbey Ritter, Gilford High School; Christine Havlock,  Winnisquam High School; Irma Krupic, Laconia High School; Jonara Ladd, Belmont High School; Jamie Mathew, Heather Tempest, Prospect Mountain High School; and Kaitlyn Stevens, Merrimack Valley High School.
